The upper cervical chiropractic adjustment is done to restore body posture and nervous system function to the body.  Many functions of the body can be impaired, including posture, when pressure from misaligned bones decreases the amount of nerve signals that make it to your body from your brain.

Before a NUCCA adjustment can be done, a thorough history and exam must be completed.  Based on x-ray examination of the upper cervical area, a precise angle and correction factor will be determined from measurements on x-rays of all three dimensional axis'.

The adjustment is painless, the patient lays on their side, and the doctor uses their hands to perform the correction.  After the very first adjustment x-rays are then repeated and measured to confirm a good correction.  Follow up visits are made to ensure that the patient correction "holds" and further adjustments can be made as needed.
